Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using Redmatch 2 (the "Game") operated by Rugbug Redfern ("us, we, our"), based in the United States, as this Privacy Policy contains important information regarding your privacy and how we may use the information we collect about you.

Your access to or use of the Game is conditional upon your acceptance of and compliance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy applies to everyone who wishes to access or use the Game.

By accessing or using the Game, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you do not have our permission to access or use the Game.

Jurisdiction and Applicable Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United States. For users in the European Union, we also comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For users in California, we comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Legal Basis for Processing

  • Contract Performance: Processing necessary to provide the Game services and fulfill our agreement with you
  • Legitimate Interests: Preventing fraud, cheating, abuse, and maintaining game security and integrity
  • Consent: For voice chat services and optional features (where you have given explicit consent)
  • Legal Obligation: Where required by applicable laws or regulations

What Information We Collect and Process

The Game may collect and process the following information from you:

  • IP address
  • Steam ID
  • Steam account name
  • Hardware Identifier (A unique identifier based on a combination or "hash" of your hardware information)
  • Text chat messages
  • Voice chat recordings, if you have given your consent to the use of our voice chat services. You can revoke consent at any time by disabling Voice Chat in the Game settings. Please note that voice chat is recorded only when necessary for moderation purposes.
  • Custom skins, banners, or other images you provide to the Game
  • Session time information (login dates, playtime, etc.)
  • In-game reports
  • Crash reports and technical diagnostic information

When you play online, your profile information, gameplay, and statistics are collected and some may be visible in-game, as well as visible to players outside the game in other Redmatch 2 related services, such as through the use of our Discord bot or leaderboards.

Information Collected Through Third Parties

Our Game is offered on Steam by Valve Corporation P.O. Box 1688 Bellevue, WA 98009. We collect certain information from your Steam account as permitted by the terms of the Steam platform and your privacy settings on Steam. We have no influence or control over how Valve Corporation processes your Personal Data. You can find more information about data processing in Steam's Privacy Policy.

Our Game is built using the game development platform Unity. This uses software modules and libraries that come from Unity Technologies itself or third parties and become an inherent part of our App (called a game engine). During the execution of the app, Personal Data may be processed by Unity itself, including device identification numbers (so-called UDID - unique device identifiers, IP address). Data such as the device type, country of app installation, advertising ID, sensor markings (e.g., from the pressure or acceleration sensor), game identification number (app ID) and the checksum of the transmitted data are also processed. We may use Enforcer Anti-Cheat, a technology of ENFORCER, and Discord by Discord Inc. within our services.

Our Use of Personal Information

We may use your Personal Information for the following purposes:

  • Enabling you to use the Game and to provide our services
  • Providing support and responding to your inquiries
  • Enforcing our terms of service
  • Prevention of fraud, cheating and other prohibited, unlawful, or malicious activities
  • Protecting the security and integrity of our Game
  • Complying with legal obligations and responding to lawful requests

The Game may use automated decision-making when processing your personal information in order to be able to effectively fulfill its purposes, particularly for anti-cheat systems. Decisions can be contested through an appeal process. To appeal a decision, please submit an appeal at https://redmatchgame.com/account.

We DO NOT SELL your personal information.

Data Retention

We may store the information for as long as necessary to provide our services, and we may retain that information beyond that period if necessary for legal, operational, or other legitimate reasons.

Minors

We do not knowingly collect, process, or retain personal information from users under the age of 13 in the United States, or under 16 in the European Union (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the applicable age without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To protect the legitimate interests of the Game, when requesting the erasure or the restriction of processing of your personal data, we will implement measures to prevent you from accessing the Game, which includes continued storage of data required to do so.

We will respond to most consumer requests within 30 days of receipt. However, some requests may take longer. We will notify you in writing if we need more time to respond. If we are unable to process your request, we will tell you why.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
